anime english dubbed series
Can you recommend me a good Anime (English dubbed) to watch?

I have seen DB, DBZ, DBGT, Sailor Moon, Samurai X OVAs, Avatar (Americanime), and a few others I’m sure but can’t think of right now. Is there a great Action Anime that I would probably like. Bending more towards the DBZ side of things because Samurai X was pretty intense. Oh, and I want to watch an English Dubbed series. Watching things with subs is alright, but my vision isn’t good and it is very distracting for me.

Come up with any shows you REALLY liked. Say any show, and tell me why it is so great.

PS: Don’t bash me because DBZ is my favorite Anime.

A really good action anime would have to be Code Geass. All the episodes (up to 20-something) have been dubbed. It really is a great series. The first few episodes might be boring though, but its really worth it in the end. I even got hooked on it!

Another anime that is somewhat like Code Geass (but still alot of action and great plotlines) is Gundam 00. It has been dubbed in sci-fi and you can watch it on monday nights. It isn’t that far along dubbedwise as Code, but it still has awesome depth.

A fully dubbed action anime would have to be Inuyasha, which was before mentioned. It has lots of gore though. It was actually my very first anime and in my childlike opinion was pretty good. But be prepared to sit through useless episodes of the same thing and 163 episodes.

Anime, the second title in our 72dpi series, presents formative (web) design in motion. Anime documents the manifold possibilities of interactive animated graphics, not only in the WWW, laying special focus on applications that combine user-related interaction and animation (e.g. interactive information, flash, game animation, web-cartoons, film/photo collage and interfaces). As a documentary medium, Anime functions both as an indicator as well as a catalyst of creative progression. Starting out from interactive animation as the central theme, Anime strives to document and examine the intersections between animation and interaction, aesthetics and technique, storytelling and dialogue, dramaturgy and production, skills and tools, experiment and usability. The included interactive DVD allows for a presentation of rule-defying works that go far beyond the WWW’s given limits.

Anime and Philosophy

$19.95

Anime and Philosophy focuses on some of the most-loved, most-intriguing anime films and series, as well as lesser-known works, to find what lies at their core. Astro Boy, Dragon Ball Z, Ghost in the Shell, and Spirited Away are just a few of the films analyzed in this book. In these stories about monsters, robots, children, and spirits who grapple with the important questions in life we find insight crucial to our times: lessons on morality, justice, and heroism, as well as meditations on identity, the soul, and the meaning — or meaninglessness — of life. Anime has become a worldwide phenomenon, reaching across genres, mediums, and cultures. For those wondering why so many people love anime or for die-hard fans who want to know more, Anime and Philosophy provides a deeper appreciation of the art and storytelling of this distinctive Japanese culture.
